Clinch Solutions™ Slide Feeder
This video shows the Clinch Solutions Slide Feeder in action. This feeder is fed by a larger hopper that uses a high power conveyor to feed the nuts into the smaller feed hopper as the laser sensor calls for them. The guided slide feeds multiple fasteners at one time up onto a conveyor belt. Most of the fasteners are oriented by the time the nut sits on top of the belt, but for the ones that are not, they are shuffled off before they are convey into the feed mechanism. This mechanism shoots them through the shot tube and into the clinch nut head when the feed head calls for fasteners. This video is shown partly in slow motion to show the faster orientation device.
3D Printing a Feed Elbow for Clinch Stud Insertion Tooling
See one of our Bambu Lab 3D printers in action, producing a feed elbow for our Clinch Stud insertion tooling. At Hess Industries Ltd., we operate fifteen 3D printers, including both Markforged and Bambu Lab systems. Printed in Onyx, a strong carbon fiber reinforced nylon material, this component helps us prototype, refine, and test new designs faster. This reduces development time while maintaining the precision and reliability our systems are known for. By combining 3D printing and traditional machining, we create tooling systems that are stronger, smarter, and production ready.
Why Shot Tube Engineering Matters
Take a look inside our Technology Center in Mansfield, Ohio, where Clinch Solutions™ shot tubes are designed and manufactured. Our low friction shot tube connects our Clinch Feeder System to the Clinch Insertion Head. Each shot tube is engineered to match the fastener and system requirements. If you have an application that requires fasteners to be delivered through a tube, we would be happy to review it and help engineer a custom solution.
